"We are simply the best": A song by 2A Course 5 2008
There are seven in our team
And a greater bunch you have not seen.
Lei is the grooviest man in town.
You can rely on Lee to never let you down.
Ryan, our smiley one is full of fun.
And Hang always has her homework done.
Bob's hair is in his eye
But his hard work will get him by.
Noah (without his ark) will keep us afloat
While we are blessed with Angel who's sure to get our vote.

Celebrating our partnership in International Education

As part of the celebrations held during our Annual Familiarisation tour this year, we joined together with our partners in international education to celebrate with a formal dinner. Along side our distinguished guests the students currently studying in Level 5 were invited to join the evening. As they had not experienced a western style formal dinner they were all very excited about participating.
During the evening three students, Thi Minh Chau Le, Vietnam, Junki Takino, Japan and Steffan, Tsz Fung Ki from Hong Kong, bravely gave their first public speech in English to loud applause. All students who attended proudly demonstrated the growth in their English skills, maturity and confidence during the evening while sitting along side their future Principals, distinguished local guests, visiting agents from Brisbane and overseas, NIC Board members and staff.

2008 Agents Familiarisation Tour

Our Agent familiarisation tour for 2008 was held from 27 April to 4 May. During this time we were delighted to have our agents here with us to showcase our school, facilities and partners. The Principals of our partner High Schools and the International staff from our University partners offered their very valuable time and presented their institution, staff and students to our local and overseas visitors, showcasing their uniqueness and individualism. Each visit was completed with a tour of the facilities together with many photo opportunities. The action packed week concluded with a fun time on the beautiful Gold Coast followed by many sad goodbyes!

Time to serve back some retaliation points!
Level 4A and 4B went face to face in a debating front up. Each class team prepared a topic. They debated each other in their classes first and then, a challenge between classes was issued. The face off occurred at 9am, Friday, 7th March in the auditorium at Nudgee International college. Cheer squads applauded and shouted approval as each team battled it out completely in English. A competitive streak drew out fantastic English speaking practice as students discussed counter arguments and retaliated. The challenge was bringing the debates to a close as each team tenaciously clung to their arguments. Well done Level 4’s. Your learning motivation is a great role model to other ESL students.

NIC recognises Australia's 'Sorry Day' 13 Feb 2008

Today is an historic day in Australian history, for we, as a county, rich in multiculturalism, honour the Indigenous peoples of this land, the oldest continuing culture in human history.
Our democratically elected government, today in the name of so many Australians officially voiced our sorrow at what happened in our name, in a much needed symbolic action of regret.
Here at NIC we also celebrated this historic act as our students are now living part of our history. At our assembly, we took the time to look at the history of settlement and the impact it took on our indigenous people through the laws imposed at the time, to celebrate the culture that is so unique and to listen to Australia’s, Prime Minister, Mr Kevin Rudd express the sorrow of our nation and to look to the future that embraces all Australians.
