Study Tour Update!
We are welcoming a school from Hong Kong at the end of April for a Study Tour. We are also taking many bookings for the July/August season - we expect to be at capacity by mid May!

NIC Cocktail Function
Nudgee International College hosted a cocktail function 'Celebrating Internationalisation' on 1 March 2007. We were delighted to have with us some distinuished guests, overseas partnersm partner school Principals and staff, homestay families, industry colleagues and students.
Mike Christie, Chairman of NIC hosted the function and said that "NIC had come a long way in the last three years. NIC's recent achievements, in particular the inagural QETI Showcase awards were indicative of NIC's strengthened position in the industry".
Our Chief Guest for the night was Br Barry Buckley, Deputy Leader, St Francis Xavier Province. "A few years ago NIC set out to redesign itself and re-launch itself, with a strong commitment to its core values. The success that it currently enjoys and its good positioning in the marketplace is a testimony to just how well this has been done and how important it has been. I congratulate Sangeeta and the staff of NIC and the Board in achieving this" he said.
NIC's CEO, Sangeeta Mahajan, highlighted NIC's key achievements in 2006. "NIC had achieved 25% growth in 2005, followed by a phenomenal 30% growth in 2006, in a downward trending market in Australia" she said.
The keynote speech delivered by Daniel Rechnizer, CEO, Shoestring Marketing, summarised eloquently NIC's vision of 'reconnecting humanity' through international education and internationalisation.

Agent Familiarisation Tour
As part of the 'Celebrating Internationalisation' Week at Nudgee International College, some of our overseas partners joined us for an Agent Familiarisation tour. We were delighted to have our friends visit us at this time of the year and it was a great pleasure to show them around NIC and our partner schools. As usual Brisbane and old Coast turned on the famous sunshine in the smart state.

International Students' Day 2007
Culture, Food, Music bonanza at Nudgee International College as students and the local community enjoyed the company of friends from Japan, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Korea, East Timor, India, Fiji, Turkey, Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Germany and Australia.The International Week was a fantastic opportunity for cultural immersion and understanding and our students and visitors thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to engage with world cultures.

Today 200 people were killed in racial based attacks.
Now, I know its not the most cheerful way to commence a speech. But to me it’s at the very heart of internationalization.
But, what is internationalization?
It is many things to many people. For some it’s taking their way of life and imposing it on the rest of the world. For others it’s the emergence of a global community, one that recognizes and accepts everyone as equal and everyone as unique.
To me, internationalization is creating a brotherhood of all humanity. It’s the recognition, the understanding that we are all human, all one, all brothers and all sisters.
So why open this speech with the no of deaths that occurred today?
The reason is simple.
In life, wherever we look there are symptoms. Or alarm bells, warning signs alerting us to the dangers ahead.
It is these warning signs that keep us healthy, harmonious and living with peace and health!
Everything in life has alarm bells!
Our bodies have alarm bells, our businesses have alarm bells, our planet has alarm bells, and or society, our global society has alarm bells!
A headache is an alarm bell. Pain is an alarm bell. Cancer is an alarm bell, one of the last ones. One that you really want to sit up and listen to!
Alarm bells are designed to wake us up. To alert us to the lack of balance, the lack of harmony and the lack of love in our lives.
911 was an alarm bell, the bali bombings, the Cronulla Riots in Sydney. These are all alarm bells!
But to what? What are they trying to tell us?
Opinions on this are wide are varied. Most blame! Few take responsibility! Even fewer have the courage to seek the real truth.
Here’s what I believe they are trying to tell us…
Mankind is slowly self destructing. You can see symptoms of this everywhere. Disease, poverty, pollution, changing weather patterns, hatred, war, and terrorism.
Our current way of life is in complete disharmony with ourselves, our neighbors and our beloved home, earth!
Our differences, our differing beliefs, our unique way of living, our culture, our language, our religions are not in balance with one another!
We are not working as one united civilization!
We are divided believers, arrogantly rejecting the lives and understanding of those around us.
Why? Because we are ignorant! This is where Nudgee International comes into play!
We are ignorant of other people cultures, religions, needs and beliefs. We are even ignorant of our own beliefs and why we hold them in such high esteem.
The earth was once flat! Did you know that? That was one of our beliefs too!
The earth was flat until word got around that it was not flat! That in fact it was round and not the centre of the universe.
Only when people spoke, when word got out, did this crazy belief begin to shift, and a new understanding began to emerge, and be accepted.
When people talk, when they connect, when they engage with one another, something amazing happens!
Do you want to know what happens?
I will tell you…
In an instant there is an exchange, often totally subconsciously there is an energetic exchange, whereby each person instantly recognizes WHY the other is the way they are!
It may be subtle it may even be resisted and judged! But it happens. Understanding happens, empathy happens awareness happens, growth happens!
It is this process of understanding that forms the essential ingredient to reconnecting mankind. Reconnecting people to each other, nations to nations!
In the past 10 years Nudgee International has introduced 15,000 international students to 50x that number of Australians.
Nudgee International has been proficient in creating an understanding between Australians and our International guests.
It may appear that Nudgee International is in the language business or the tourism business.
No. Nudgee International is playing a way bigger game then that!
Nudgee International is playing a game of internationalization, a game of creating an international understanding of diversity and uniqueness. Nudgee International is playing for the highest, the greatest of all. I believe…Nudgee International is in the business reconnecting humanity!
Now that worthy celebrating! Keep up the inspiring work Nudgee International!
